Snohomish Education Association Bargaining Update

9/12/02 District Still Demonstrates No Willingness to Bargain

For the third time the District came to the mediation table with no parameters allowing for a compromise. The Snohomish Education Association (SEA) Bargaining Team has definitively indicated they are willing to compromise in order to achieve a fair and reasonable contract for its members. SEA cannot understand why the District fails to be willing to compromise.

The Public Employees Relations Commission (PERC) mediator has requested that the SEA Chief Negotiator, John Morrill and the District Negotiator, Jerry Gates meet on Thursday, September 12 in his Kirkland office.

The mediator also scheduled a bargaining session with both teams present for Friday, September 13 at 2:00 p.m.
